For anyone that’s been sucked into the Stranger Things bandwagon like us, you’ll be excited to know that the supernatural horror Netflix series is officially returning for a nine-episode second season in 2017.

The series, set in the 80’s, follows a young boy who goes missing, and a telekinetic girl who helps his friends find some answers – while the boy’s mum, older brother and the town police chief start their own investigations. SAH MUCH GOING ON!

The show’s producers, Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen, have revealed that the new season will follow the same set of characters while adding more mysteries to the mix. MORE?!

“The plan is to continue with this set of characters while introducing a few critical key new ones next season,” they told Slashfilm.

“So I’ll just say that a lot of the big mysteries get answered at the end of season 1, but we are very much kind of unearthing new problems and questions that merit future stories and future investigation in the most enjoyable way. So we are in love with our cast and our characters.”
