UH OH!! Amy Schumer is copping major backlash on Twitter!!

On Friday, the 35 year-old comedian released a parody video of Beyonce’s “Formation” with Goldie Hawn in tow. But while the video was intended as a lighthearted parody – and the ladies have been praised by some for their seriously impressive dance moves! – Twitter isn’t having a bar of it.

Activist and writer Feminista Jones called out Amy and Goldie for parodying a song “ostensibly about blackness and black womanhood” and started the #AmySchumerGottaGoParty. The hashtag soon began trending on Saturday night, with many people joining the party without even knowing about the parody video.

“I quit life,” one Twitter user wrote, posting a recording of the video and providing commentary.

Another went on to say, “That video wasn’t a parody. Parodies are funny. That video was just more of her showing her shit racist personality #AmySchumerGottaGoParty” — 💀The Alchemist💀 (@AlchemistEmrys)

…Aaaannnddd another: “I don’t even care why we throwing the #AmySchumerGottaGoParty. I’ve been waiting on this day…Someone fix me a plate.”

Amy has yet to respond publicly to the backlash online. While the video featured two black women and other women of colour, it did premiere on Tidal (meaning someone from Bey or Jay’s camp probably approved it). Amy has been accused in the past for telling racist jokes, so maybe it’s a good idea if she pays homage to Queen Bey in a different way!
