When you look at some of the contestants on Australian Survivor, aka buffnuts Lee, Sam and Kylie, you’d think you’d have to do some pretty intense tests to land yourself a spot on the show, right?! Well apparently not!

It turns out, you don’t need to have abs or be able to run a marathon to make the cut. In fact, there was just a few simple exercises the contestants had to prove they could do…

But remember, it’s not just about your physical ability – you need to have great mental fitness too!

Sydney exercise scientist and personal trainer Damien Kelly and GP and media presenter Dr Sam Hay put the physical test together to suss out the overall health and fitness of the tribe members.

It’s not just about the physical fitness on Survivor

“It was a basic test designed to check for things like specific weaknesses and mobility,” Damien said.

Although the test might have looked simple, Peter Newman, head of Non-Scripted Content at the production house behind the show, said it’s something that’s taken very seriously.

“The fitness test is to make sure they are all physically healthy and fit enough to take part in the challenges and the overall physicality of being on the island for 55 days,” he said.

Think you’ve got what it takes?

Take the test here…
