Monday’s finale of The Bachelorette US was a complete shock, because suitor Jordan Rodgers proposed to Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher – and she said yes!

Yep, during the finale, Jordan got down on one knee on a Phuket beach and presented JoJo with a Neil Lane diamond ring, reportedly worth a whopping $80,000 and estimated to have 3.5 carats.

“I had this immediate sense of comfort with him. From that first initial interaction, I knew I could fall in love with Jordan,” JoJo tells People in a new interview.

“On those final days, I thought about who I couldn’t imagine saying goodbye to,” she says. “It was always Jordan. And that’s how I knew.”

And when it came to Jordan proposing, he admits: “I was so ready. JoJo is the one. I know that, no matter what, we’ll get through anything.

“We woke up the day after the proposal and we were so incredibly happy. It was the best decision we ever made.”

“We went through this entire crazy journey that somehow led us to each other. We’re so ready to start our life together,” JoJo adds.

Of course, JoJo has had to keep the engagement a secret until the finale was aired, but now she’s finally able to wear the dazzling number in public.

The gorgeous 3.5 carat ring

Appearing on Bachelor Live on Monday, JoJo did admit that her and Jordan’s relationship has been ‘very difficult’ since the show ended.

“I’ll be honest – it’s been difficult. The media – the tabloids, the rumors – they’ve been terrible,” she said.

“There’s been many nights I’ve cried myself to sleep and he’s been the person on the phone with me just trying to keep me OK, and I think it’s been really hard for him.

“Because at this point we can’t defend each other, we can’t show our love, we can’t show our relationship, so that’s been tough.”

“The hardest part for me is having people say, ‘He doesn’t really love you, this is for show’ – that hurts me. Not because I think it’s true but it’s just hard to have that kind of on you when it should be a really amazing time in your life.”

JoJo was upset at how the media have portrayed their relationship

Meanwhile, Jordan insisted: “I promised on that day that no matter what life throws at us we’re going get over that.

“So it’s been difficult, but it’s what we expected. We expected bumps. But she’s the person I want to do it with and do life with.”

The emotional proposal…

Hopefully they live happily ever after!
