After the MTV 10 year special The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now aired on Tuesday night, fans were left a little confused.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have revealed that they and the rest of the cast would have loved to be included in the ‘reunion,’ but were all left out of the episode, which only featured Lauren Conrad.

“She doesn’t want to share any limelight with anybody else,” Spencer told the Daily Mail of Lauren.

“Don’t include Heidi and I. Where is Audrina? Where is Brody? These are very entertaining people, their lives are packed.

“That’s why she quit The Hills. Not because she burned out – she didn’t want other people to shine. She quit thinking they were going to cancel the show. She quit thinking she was going to get everybody off TV. That’s been her style from day one.

“Oh, other people are getting some press? forget that. My show – I narrate it.”

Spencer added: “I invested years of my life into that network and that show, just like all these other cast members. Ten years later you’re doing an anniversary, at least you know let everyone meet up and toast together, you know?”

The reality star didn’t hold back, describing the special as an ‘infomercial’ and a ‘fake bootleg version’ of The Hills, and explaining that Lauren calls the shots at MTV.

“The head of programming for West Coast MTV is one of Lauren’s little best friends since Laguna Beach. All she has to say to him is ‘don’t do anything with anybody else.’ She has better relationships.”

Lauren was the only cast member included in the reunion

He said the rest of the cast ‘would have loved to do’ a reunion, and even revealed that Brody Jenner thought he’d filmed for the episode, but later discovered it was just promo footage. Poor Brodes!

“By her excluding everybody and acting like she’s better than the whole cast, it’s why she had no real friends,” Spencer contiued. “It’s why I never found her cool. It’s all about her.

“Why didn’t they have Audrina pregnant in there? Or Audrina holding her new baby with her fiance? Or Kristin Cavallari taking about her family? Or Brody talking about his new fiancee?

Lauren Conrad reflects on some of the fights on The Hills

Heidi said that although she thought the show was ‘good closure,’ she still would have liked to take part in the reunion.

Speaking about why they weren’t asked to be in the TV special, Heidi said: “I think after [Lauren] quit the show she said she was done with reality TV. It was always hard to get her to do certain things.

“During The Hills Spencer and I weren’t allowed to be in certain places that she was in because she didn’t want us there; that was just very typical of what Spence and I encountered when we were filming. And parties for The Hills premieres and stuff, we weren’t allowed to be in the same room with her.

“It really was her show. She was the narrator and she really held all the cards, or most of them. And I think MTV has a special relationship with her, and they were just so excited to get her to do it that they probably just did whatever she wanted.”

So we guess there’s still some tension between them then?! AWKS!
