Snapchat was originally created as an app where photos disappeared shortly after sharing them, but that’s no longer the case. Introducing Snapchat Memories – a new feature which lets you save snaps!

Yeah you could previously save snaps to your camera roll, but not like this! You’ll be able to keep them within the Snapchat app, which makes it easier to curate and share them.

Snapchat is slowly rolling out the feature over the next month and will send you a message when it’s ready for you – but just to get you psyched up…

You can access Memories by swiping up from the camera. Any snaps or stories you’ve saved will be there – searchable by date, place, or object-recognition-powered keyword. You can also edit saved snaps, add a location, mix them in with your current snaps, and send them to friends!

Have a NSFW snap saved? Don’t worry, you can put it in the My Eyes Only section that requires a PIN to access.

Another plus? It will help you live more in the moment. Take a pic or video now, and save the snapping for later. Sure, it takes away the real-time engagement Snapchat provides, but it gives you more time to pick the perfect filter!

Win-win!

Snapchat’s new Memories feature is all we’ve ever wanted
