It’s been one week since much loved pop music icon Prince passed away, and now shocking new reports claim that he was diagnosed with AIDS six months before his death. Yikes!

Prince had messaged his friends on April 19th telling them he was “in bad shape” and suffering from AIDS, according to The National Enquirer.

He had reportedly refused treatment because the thought he could be cured by prayer, due to his Jehovah’s Witness faith.

The 57-year-old weighed just 36 kilos when he died, and had been “preparing to die for a little while,” the publication claims.

A source said: “Doctors told Prince his blood count was unusually low and that his body temperature had dropped dangerously below the normal 98.6 degrees to 94 degrees.”

“He was totally iron-deficient, very weak and often disoriented. He rarely ate and when he did, it all came right back up.”

“His face was yellowish, the skin on his neck was hanging off and the tips of fingers were a brownish-yellow.”

According to the magazine, Prince contracted HIV in the 90’s, which developed into AIDS near the end of last year.

Various reports claim that the singer became addicted to opiate medication Percoet, which he was using to dull the severe pain he was suffering in those last months.

A statement released by those close to Prince revealed that he died of influenza, which would indeed have been fatal if his immune system was overcome by AIDS.

Days before his death he was seen making trips to his local pharmacy to pick up bags of prescriptions.

He nearly died on board his private plane while touring, just six days before he was found dead in a lift at his Paisley Park mansion. The plane was required to make an emergency landing, with sources telling TMZ that he had to be rushed to hospital for a “save shot” – normally used on patients who have overdosed on opiate medication.

Official autopsy results are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
