The Amber Heard v Johnny Depp divorce drama has taken an even darker turn, with a friend of Amber’s claiming he once tried to suffocate his wife with a pillow during a drunken rage.

Speaking to the New York Post’s Page Six, the friend claims Amber, 30, texted her during the alleged attack, and that when she rushed round to her apartment, she found the Friday Night Lights star ‘battered and bruised’, and with a chunk of hair missing from her head.

“This incident really stuck with me because she confided in me that day that she feared for her life after an intoxicated Johnny tried to suffocate her with a pillow,” the friend tells the publication.

And these latest claims follow allegations that the hand injury that forced Johnny to halt filming on the Aussie set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest to rush back to the States for emergency surgery, was actually caused by him punching a wall during another fight with Amber.

According to Entertainment Tonight, he had to have a pin inserted into his finger, and take a month off work.

Johnny had a pin inserted in one of his fingers and filming was halted for a month.

As the mud-slinging continues, Johnny’s friend, comedian Doug Stanhope, has spoken out in his defence, claiming that Amber told Johnny she was going to leave him and threatened to lie about him publicly ‘in any and every duplicitous way’ if he did not agree to her terms.

We’ll keep you updated as the story unfolds.
