We don’t mean to alarm you, but taking a selfie could actually be bad for your health! Yep, it’s been revealed that there’s a legit medical condition called ‘selfie elbow’, which is brought on by taking lots of selfies! For reals!!!

How was this discovered you might ask? Today‘s Hoda Kotb revealed to Elle that she was visiting an orthopedist for pain in her elbow. The doctor asked if Hoda was involved in sports like tennis or ping-pong that could have brought on the pain – but she wasn’t.

Hoda happened to mention that she’d been taking selfies and just like that, she was diagnosed with ‘selfie elbow.’

Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus might get ‘selfie elbow’

So how do you know if you have it?

Well if you’re a regular selfie taker and get pain in your pic-snapping elbow, you could have this new fancy medical condition.

But luckily for us, there’s a solution that means we don’t have to give up the selfies – phew!

Suggestions include switching arms, pre-selfie stretching – um, genius – or a selfie stick. Yes it may be kinda embarrassing, but if it protects you from injury, why not try it?

Or maybe we should calm down on the selfies. Just sayin’
