Prepare yourselves Game of Thrones fans, because it’s been revealed that our beloved fantasy series will come to an end after season eight – but – a spin-off hasn’t been ruled out!

Yep, it will be over before we know it. NOOOO!

HBO programming president Casey Bloys said: “Yes, I think [the showrunners, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff] have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do. If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 seasons but we want to take their lead with what they could do and what the best version of the show is.”

And while a spin-off IS possible, nothing is set in stone, and it will only happen if it “makes sense creatively.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Casey explained: “We’ve talked about it. It’s not something I’m opposed to but it has to make sense creatively. I’m not sure the guys can wrap their heads around it when they are about to start production. We’re open to it; the guys aren’t opposed to it but there’s no concrete plans right now.”

The GOT Season 6 finale wasn’t what we were expecting AT ALL!

It was recently confirmed that the oh-so-addictive show had been renewed for a seventh season, but it will be much shorter than recent series, with just seven episodes instead of 10.

The number of eps for season eight hasn’t been decided yet, but the producers have planned a total of 75 episodes for the whole series.

Season seven is expected to hit screens in summer 2017, and the final season is set to air in 2018.

Season six of Games of Thrones has brought in an average of 25 million viewers, making it the most-watched show on the channel!

No surprises there…
