Kim Kardashian is breaking the internet… again!

The 35-year-old reality celebrity turned social media superstar, sent the internet into a frenzy today when news broke that she’s set to receive a Break the Internet award on May 16 at the 2016 Webby Awards.

Well versed in social media, the social media juggernaut boasts almost 70 million Instagram followers, 45 million Twitter followers and just over 28 million Facebook fans. No stranger to shock value, Kim’s cleverly executed social media strategy and online prowess wows and stuns millions all over the world.

Whether you love or loathe her, the savvy business woman’s presence as a pop culture phenomenon is undeniable – she’s everywhere!

Announcing the honour, Webby organisers said: “[The award is given] in recognition of her unprecedented success online and the bold and creative ways she has used the Internet, social media, apps and video to connect with a truly global audience. As the leading celebrity in terms of her online presence and understanding of how to connect with a global audience via social media, apps, and online video, Kim has set the standard incredibly high.”

The organisers continued, “It is to her credit that the phrase ‘break the Internet’ is part of the lexicon of everyday speak — she has shaped our understanding of how someone or something can draw the popular attention of Internet users everywhere.”

Kim hasn’t stopped at social media. She’s continues to conquer the internet with her highly successful and lucrative top-selling game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood and an amazing emoji keyboard, Kimoji.

The social media queen’s husband, Kanye West, 38, will also receive the coveted Webby Artist of the Year, in recognition of the record-breaking streaming release of his latest album ‘The Life of Pablo’, streamed a whopping 250 million times in 10 days!

With Kim’s sister, Kylie Jenner vying for the title of social media queen, I wonder what Kim has in store for us next?!
