After revelations of her sex-offender dad Alistah Laishkochav, who fathered 64 children and had nine wives came out earlier this week, Keira Maguire has been forced to address her upbringing.

The Sydney sweetheart kept her story a secret from friends and The Bachelor producers, hoping that no-one would ever uncover the truth. However, it’s come back to haunt her this week.

“Everyone [has] a past and I’ve always [had] this fear of people finding out [about where I came from],” she says in a teaser for The Project.

Keira will appear on The Project tonight to talk about her upbringing

But Keira is firm that she doesn’t want her father to define her – in fact, he was never a real part of her life.

“My mother removed my family from that environment when I was five years old – over 25 years ago,’ she says. “I was brought up by my mother and grandmother in Brisbane in a loving, caring and compassionate household.”

“I had a wonderful childhood and I am extremely grateful to both my mother and grandmother for the upbringing, which they provided me and my [five] siblings.”

She wants everyone to move on from the news, and to continue her life without any tie to her father.

“Although I have since met and reunited with my family, I have never had a relationship with Alistah Laishkochav,” Keira says. “Alistah Laishkochav is not relevant to who I am.”

Watch The Project at 6.30pm for Keira’s full interview…
