They say nice guys finish last, and while very nice guy Richie Strahan may have failed to capture Sam Frost’s heart on The Bachelorette last year, he’s winning at life right now as The Bachelor 2016!

“After The Bachelorette, I thought maybe finding love on TV wasn’t for me, but then I thought: ‘What have I got to lose? I could meet a really beautiful woman. I have to take that chance,’” Richie tells NW.

And that chance paid off, with our exclusive insider revealing Richie did indeed find love!

The man himself was determined to keep mum about the final outcome during our beachside chat, although he did let a thing or two slip about just how cool his bananas are these day.

“Each ceremony just meant I was closer to meeting The One,” he teases. “I can’t say if I did, but I’m happy with how it’s played out. Very happy.”

Congrats on being the new Bachie! How does it feel?

Thanks! It’s been an absolute whirlwind. It’s really exciting, but there’s no way I’d ever have imagined this 18 months ago. I’m a quiet, private guy. Even I can’t believe I’m doing this!

So what are you looking for in a girlfriend?

I’m open to being in a loving, real relationship. I want someone who’s going to be my partner in crime, who’s my co-pilot, someone who’s going to enjoy life as much as I’m enjoying it. Really, though, I just want someone to watch Netflix and chill with…

Some of the girls have said you got physical with more than one lady during filming. True?

As for what girls say about me afterwards, I can’t control that or comment on it. It’s their theory and what they think they know. It’s up to them what they want to say.

What, if anything, makes Nice Guy Richie lose his temper?

I am fiery. I’ve got teeth. You give me a parking ticket and I’ll let you know!

So is there any chance of another Bachelor engagement after this series wraps?

Another wedding! Blake’s already proposed, so that’s been done, and Sam [Wood]and Snez [Markoski] are engaged. The pressure’s off! I want to get married and have a family one day. You wouldn’t be doing something like this if that wasn’t the case. You’ll just have to watch and see…
