Chris Hemsworth admits that his family have much more privacy since moving from the U.S. to Byron Bay in 2014.

After packing up their lives in Hollywood, Chris, his wife Elsa Pataky and their three kids moved Down Under, and they love it.

“We can walk straight down to the beach, we can have a normal existence and the kids have a hell of a lot more fun than they did back in the States,” he revealed to an Australian magazine publication.

They are often seen hanging out around the area with their four-year-old daughter India Rose, and two-year-old twin sons Tristan and Sasha.

Chris gushes over his kids

According to Woman’s Day, they’re sometimes spotted at local eatery The Farmhouse, while Elsa often shops up a storm at the local fashion retailer Spell.

A sale assistant from the store says Elsa “owns practically everything from the store,” and reveals she has a preference to go barefoot while she’s out.

Meanwhile, another shopkeeper says the family go about their business like everyone else. “They see extremely down-to-earth for celebrities.”

Earlier this year, Chris revealed he thought the Hollywood lifestyle was “suffocating.”

“I love what I do as an actor, but when you are surrounded by it constantly, it becomes a bit suffocating,” he told Modern Luxury.

“It’s nice to have conversations with people and be a part of a community that doesn’t live and breathe that world.

“We were living shoulder to shoulder in the suburbs and thought that’s not how we want our kids to grow up. Moving to a kind of farm setup back here on the coast in Australia has been the best thing.”

It’s been the best thing for us too, Hemsy…
