American singing sensation Adam Lambert has been announced as the third and final judge on the 2016 series of The X Factor Australia!

“I am very excited to join The X Factor in Australia as a judge and am looking forward to helping people shine their brightest,” says Adam.

“Australia has always been one of my favourite places to tour. The Aussies I’ve met are so kind and good humoured- so the thought of getting to LIVE in Sydney is very exciting.”

Channel Seven’s Director of Production, Brad Lyons also commented on securing Adam as a judge on the show. “Adam is truly a world class artist, performing on some of the biggest stages in the world. He knows first-hand how hard that first break can be.  His experience and passion will be invaluable for our contestants.”

Adam rose to fame in 2009 after finishing as runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol, and has since found success on Oz turf, after releasing a series of hit singles including the most recent Ghost Town – which earned platinum status in Australia.

He’s also toured internationally both as a solo artist and as the lead singer with Queen – which has now brought him worldwide fame.

Adam joins Aussie rap superstar Iggy Azalea, as well as veteran Guy Sebastian on the panel – as the network plans to shake up this year’s format of the show.

Less judges means less spots for wannabe singers, so the competition is going to be intense!
