Selma Blair has opened up more about the “frightening” meltdown she had on a plane in June – admitting that she had a “total psychotic blackout” after making the mistake of mixing alcohol with medication.

The actress, 44, was flying back to LA from a family holiday in Cancun when fellow passengers heard her suddenly start screaming, “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink. He beats me. He’s going to kill me.”

Selma stretchered off the flight and taken to hospital, and during an appearance on The Talk this week, she told Sharon Osbourne, “It was very destructive. I am someone who should never drink, and I rarely do, and I don’t drink anymore, but I was going through something.”

She added, “I had a glass of wine and someone gave me a pill that I thought was something that I’d taken before … it was something completely different … and I had a total psychotic blackout.”

Selma’s five-year-old son Arthur was on the plane with her – along with his dad and her ex Jason Bleick – but was thankfully asleep.

“I knew he was going to sleep,” she said. “He had headphones on, and that’s why I took this pill anyhow… Bad choice all around. I totally own it, will not happen again.”

At the time of the weird incident, Selma was quick to own her actions, sincerely apologising to everyone involved.

“I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident,” she said. “I am truly very sorry.”
